Marantec is an acronym for Marienfelder Antriebstechnik (lit. "Marienfeld Operator Technology"). Over the past 30 years, Marantec has become a well-known name around the world and is associated with the highest quality "made in Germany". Our journey so far has been characterized by openness and collaboration.
Experience Since 1957
Marantec was born in the 80s: In 1989, while a political turning point for the history books was taking place on the world stage, Michael Hörmann was embarking on a new chapter in operator technology in Marienfeld, Eastern Westphalia. He founded Marantec based out of an operator production facility that had previously belonged to the door and gate manufacturer Hörmann – and whose employees had been working and gaining experience in the field of operator technology since 1957.
